Ready or not, Autumn is upon us.
It’s been a great summer for us here at Phrasee. We’ve gained awesome new customers, grown our awesome team, and networked with marketing’s awesomest pholks during yet another awesome conference season.
And, as the last precious days of summer begin to fade, there’s even more awesomeness to look forward to. Halloween, Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and Christmas are just around the corner, and we humble members of the Phrasee squad have some very exciting (and awesome) things in the works.
In the meantime, there’s always Twitter, where the best and brightest marketers continue to keep us all abreast of the latest and greatest developments that the marketing game has to offer.
Let’s see how we did this month…
We bid farewell in style to those moving on…
My team gave me a few parting gifts (including the world’s only @TaxiforEmail pillow U+1F440 #emailgeeks) and the most thoughtful part was that they stuffed the box with the shredded Post-its of sprint work I’ve done. pic.twitter.com/EG6nVS9uis

And put aside our differences for the greater good…
While others argue over chicken sandwiches, BK in Argentina goes:
A Day Without Whopper – directing their customers to buy a McDonalds burger. All Big Mac sales will be donated to help children with cancer https://t.co/dwbkMCYBF7

And set aside a little time to make our users smile…

We took in the marketing wonders of the digital age…

We called out injustice…
Bad UX patterns, newsletter edition:
– Clicking Unsubscribe should always do it immediately
– Don’t ask for the email again
– Don’t make the follow-up form look like you haven’t unsubscribed (Mailchimp)
– Definitely none of this “Please respond to this email with subject” thing— Naz Hamid (@weightshift) September 26, 2019
As well as brilliance…

We put our heads together…
I love that there is a group of #emailgeeks angrily writing a rebuttal article (in response to a TC article with bad email advice) in a shared google doc

And made sure to recognize our own worth…

But most of all, we remembered to keep things simple…
Email marketing is really very simple, to be effective. Step 1) convey a clear message and call-to-action Step 2) deliver the message and have audience interact Step 3) profit. Right? #emailmarketing #emailgeeks

Because in this business, things can get really complicated, really fast, if you let them…
