Phrasee is a special company.
Why? Some people might say it’s because of our industry-leading AI marketing language generation and optimization technology, or the ever-growing list of brands availing themselves of our services and singing our praises. However, those people would be wrong.
What really sets Phrasee apart are the amazing people who show up, day in and day out, to help us grow our brand, deliver amazing service to our customers, and make our cutting-edge artificial intelligence tech work.
One of those amazing people is Stu Elmes.

What does Phrasee’s “Content Strategist” actually do? We’ll let Stu explain…
“I write most of Phrasee’s blog content, I work remotely to manage Phrasee’s awesome social media accounts, and I provide additional on-brand written copy whenever it’s needed, like for our website, marketing materials, or third-party content contributions.”
Yes, Stu Elmes is definitely a human being who exists. Although few have actually met him, Stu’s sporadic, awkward appearances at the Phrasee office stand testament to the indisputable fact that he almost certainly works for Phrasee in some capacity (and may have done for quite some time!).
But is there more to this content-churning phantom than whispers and innuendo?

An interview with Stu Elmes
How did you wind up on the Phrasee team?
Parry recruited me after reading a hockey blog that I was writing and managing as a hobby. Luckily, we both like the same team.
What have you learned since joining the Phrasee team?
Good Lord SO MUCH. I came in with no marketing background and only the most basic understanding of what email marketing is or how AI works. Now I’ve written somewhere in the neighborhood of 300 Phrasee blog posts about those things and consider myself pretty well-versed in the finer points of marketing, AI, and email.
What makes Phrasee special as a company?
For me, it’s the branding. I think Phrasee has a really unique, irreverent voice that resonates with folks in this space. I can’t think of many companies (especially martech companies!) that would be comfortable marketing themselves the way we do. It’s awesome.
Why should brands use Phrasee?
Because we have the best team and the best tech. There is simply nobody else doing what we’re doing that is on Phrasee’s level.
Where is Phrasee headed in the years to come?
I think there’s some really exciting stuff in the works. The potential our platform has to upend the social media ad game is pretty mind-blowing, and I can think of dozens of other possible applications for this tech that would be pretty lucrative. The world is our oyster!
What’s the most exciting thing going on in your life today?
I had a beautiful baby girl 7 months ago. Dunno if “exciting” is exactly the right word, but it’s pretty awesome.
